3D math game · Best for grades 2-4
Money Shop places students inside a market stall where they must pay exact amounts using coins and bills. They drag real-looking currency onto a tray, watching the running total until it matches the price — turning abstract coin values into a lived shopping transaction.
Money Shop builds fluency with coin and bill denominations and multi-denomination addition. Students learn to choose the fewest coins needed for a price and to give change by finding the difference between the amount tendered and the price.
To pay ₪17, a student might place one ₪10 bill, one ₪5 coin, and two ₪1 coins. They see 10+5+1+1=17 on the tray, confirming the combination before pressing Check.
Students often stack too many small coins rather than choosing efficient combinations. The tray total provides immediate feedback, encouraging them to swap for larger denominations when the total overshoots the price.
Use it for individual practice, paired work, or a short class demonstration before worksheets.
